A Ticketing Platform with a Sales and Marketing Twist

There’s a new kid on the event ticketing block and it goes by the name, Goodtimes Ticketing Sdn Bhd. The latest entrant into Malaysia’s events industry integrates online event ticketing, marketing, and sales, making it an ideal cocktail for event organisers.

Founded by local event producer, Vinodh Menon, Goodtimes Ticketing’s has enjoyed an encouraging start since it went live on the 17th of October 2019, providing ticketing solutions for over 40 events, and in the process, selling over 5,000 tickets.

On top of its encouraging sales numbers, Goodtimes has also become a ticketing vendor for local institutions such as International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and even a preferred ticketing partner for venues such as PJ Live Arts Theater at Jaya One. 

With Harvinth Skin, Kavin Jay and Mad Sabah, at Kavin Jay’s ‘Let’s Get Ready to Grumble’ in 2019. This was yet another show produced and ticketed by Goodtimes Ticketing Sdn Bhd.

Its Founder and CEO, Vinodh Menon, credits the company’s positive start, to its unique approach of being a ticketing partner that works hand-in-hand with event producers to ensure ticket sales. Among the services it offers include, social media management, public relations support, pop-up booths, and digital marketing, while charging a low ticketing fee of 5% per ticket sold.

Aside from benefiting from the marketing and sales support, Goodtimes’s clients are not burdened by high set-up fees, and have excess to their ticketing revenue at any given time.

Tickets sold on the platform are accessible via two sales channels, its online website, and offline presence through pop-up booths across 30 locations within the Klang Valley area.

Bubble Milk Color Run 2020, a fun-run, at Cyberjaya was another running event ticketed by Goodtimes Ticketing Sdn Bhd. 

“Our goal is to support our clients with marketing activities that promote ticket sales. Executing these activities have led to great sales numbers for our clients and ultimately played a huge role in our recent growth,” said Vinodh.

Aside from its marketing prowess, the platform also caters to different event and sales requirements. From bundle pricing, promotions, promo codes, to multiple seating options, including free, numbered, and banquet table seating, making it a versatile and dynamic ticketing option.

“The flexibility of our system has allowed us to work with multiple event types and formats including marathons, sporting events, comedy, conferences, charity dinners, and a whole lot of others. Looking ahead, our focus is on integrating more marketing tools and sales options for the benefit of our users and organizers alike,” added Vinodh.

Vinodh’s dream is a big one, and that is to develop Goodtimes Ticketing into a regional brand, with a clear focus on customer service, and consistent innovation.

He added that in the company’s direction in its first year, is to maximize traffic to the site, add value, in terms of marketing and sales opportunities, for its clients, and last but not least, guarantee customer satisfaction. 

“We are constantly looking for partnerships with vendors that can help us bring more to the table. A perfect example of this, is our recent joint-venture with PJ Live Arts (PJLA) which will see more advertising and marketing opportunities for event organisers who engage our ticketing services for their events at PJLA, and our partnership with Thai Asian Fusion Bar & Restaurant, Tommy Thongchai, which will give our customers a 10% discount of their meals at the restaurant when they purchase a ticket for a PJLA show through our site,” said Vinodh.

At present the site averages close to 8,000 visitors per month with around 69% of it comprising of new customers, and while Vinodh has enjoyed the encouraging start, he feels that there is plenty more to be accomplished. 

“Soon we will be venturing into the Singaporean event space, with our first show taking place in June 2020. Locally, it’s all about expanding our marketing footprint. One way we aim to do that, is to add to our 30 pop-up booth locations within Klang Valley, to include other major cities in Malaysia, including Penang, Ipoh, Johor Bahru and Kuching. In the end, the goal is to keep up with the ever-changing requirements of our clients and customers,” said Vinodh.

He added that there are three other countries that have been earmarked in Goodtimes’s plans: Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.
